Because of your support, 2013 has been a remarkable year – giving healing & hope to over 1000 war-affected children! Thank you for partnering with us to provide housing, nutrition, education & counseling to child survivors. Below you will find glimpses of two of these children. I would like to invite you to step into their stories.

Meet Innocent

This young man was kidnapped by two separate rebel forces at two different times in his young life and forced to be a child soldier. But this is not who he is. It’s only a part of his story.

This year, he graduated from our program in DR Congo and we had the privilege of returning with him to his village where he was reunited with his family. He has started his own business and is launching a Village Peace Club to give others what he has been given – peace & restoration in the name of Jesus.

Meet Jennifer

Jennifer is a child that I (Bethany) sponsor in Uganda. In this photo she is holding her very first bible. Her mother, who had been abducted by LRA rebels, escaped while nine months pregnant. Grace gave birth to Jennifer just two days later. It was a miracle that Jennifer survived! But God had plans for her!

The torture Grace suffered was so intense that she fell into a cationic state after giving birth. For years, she went in and out of mental incapacitation, but after prayer and mental health treatment – she is doing much better. In October, Grace welcomed us to sit with her under a tree in her village. With a great smile she said, “My heart thanks you for giving my children life.” Her 3 young children are now sponsored – receiving an education & physical/emotional care.
